“Our intellects are bound by our perceptions and what we perceive is limited by our five senses. From what we’ve learned though modern physics, what get through our five senses is more unreal than it is real. In order to reach the truth, we need to go ‘Beyond Reason’.” Just saw this documentary and found it quite fascinating. It explains the limits of modern science...

Do you have faith in Western Medicine?
Have you ever wondered why it’s so hard to permanently shed a few pounds? Why there are so many diets and none seems to work? I’m just reading Good Calories, Bad Calories which is shuttering whatever is left of my belief in western science. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading about new achievements and discoveries and I’d still love to think about scientists as independent...

Living The Ayurvedic Path: Putting the "union"... →
theayurvedicpath: Most practitioners of yoga are vaguely aware of the true meaning of the word yoga. Yoga is a sanskrit word which translates as “to yoke” or “to join”. What we celebrate in the practice of yoga is the yoking of our mind, body, soul and spirit. But do most yoga practices encourage us to do this? read more >

Pitta-Kapha Prakruti
Pitta-Kapha types usually are very healthy and resilient, combining the the power of Pitta with the strength of Kapha. They usually display a sturdier build than pure Pittas and put on weight more easily than those but since they are also physically more active than pure Kaphas they usually are able to keep the balance. Warm, humid weather affects this type negatively. Pitta Dosha Kapha Dosha

Vata-Kapha Prakruti
Vata-Kapha types usually are lighter or shorter and smaller than a pure Kapha build and also might have proportionally longer limbs. Often this mixed Dosha type is more sensitive to the cold than any other Prakriti and shows many Kapha weaknesses like excess mucus and poor digestion. Vata Dosha Kapha Dosha

Vata-Pitta Prakruti
Vata-Pitta types resemble pure Vatas in many respects, but the Pitta influence often gives them a stronger and more compact build. This type is very active and shows a curious combination of confusion and determination. In general Vata-Pittas are sensitive to neuronal stimuli such as light, heat, sound and dryness.
